Just In Time and Lean Production

Zero inventory is one of the issues of the 21st century manufacturing industry. A company is required to generate efficiencies and cost effectiveness. High utilization and profits are comparable. Zero inventory can be achieved with lean production. Giant world famous company that has proven to perform lean production is the Toyota. Evidence can be seen in the book The Toyota Way. How a company can apply lean production? Underlying philosophy is Just In Time (JIT).

JIT is a philosophy of continuous and forced problem solving that supports lean production. Lean production supplies the customer with their exact wants when the customer wants it without waste.  Zero inventory. Key issues are continual improvement and a pull system. Many aspects relating to how to do JIT and lean production. Likewise with implementing a pull system. These will be presented in the next blog post because it’s a lot :) .
