Classification Process Modeling Techniques

Classification Process Modeling Techniques Quoted from Aguilar-Saven (2004) in the International Journal of Production Economics entitled “Business process modeling: review and framework”, classification of usability Process Modeling consists of four categories, namely :

1. Description Model for learning;
2. Description Model and analytical support for decisions on development and design processes;
3. Analytical Model for decision support and control during execution; and
4. Support Model for information technology.

Aguilar also classify the models into the category of passive and active. Process Modeling belonging to the passive is a process model that does not have the ability to support the interaction with the user, models are not as active. Examples of process models in the active category is simulation models.

Both of the above classification, illustrated by the horizontal and vertical axis as shown in the image below.
